Our durable tipi fabric
Here at The Tipi Company, we use a durable outdoor fabric for all of our Tipis. The fabric is highly water and weather resistant, moisture regulating and breathable. This makes it perfect during the heat of the Summer and cold of the Winter. It is also stable, sun protective and colourfast, with a non-fouling finish leading it to be a visually stunning product that is also practical.
Made of a top-class blend of breathable cotton and synthetic fibre, it can be stretched tight against the poles. It can also be used repeatedly without shrinking or stretching too much.
The beige colour of the canvas allows the lighting inside to glow warmly through. So externally, it looks stunning against the night sky.
Flame retardancy
In addition to these characteristics, the canvas is also flame retardant. The fabric meets BS 7837, DIN 4102 B2 and NF 92-503 class:M1 standards. Meaning the fabric is a very safe material, especially when a fire pit is lit inside. The edges of the tipi canvas are reinforced with 50cm of sand coloured, tear-resistant cordura and provide a natural contrast to the main beige canvas.
All of our tipis are sewn together by our expert Fabrication Technicians in Bolton, using advanced textile methods to ensure the canvas sheets are made to last and are extremely strong.
Our fabric carries a lifetime flame retardency certificate, but if you or your client accidentally damages the sheeting (or any other elements of the tipis), we have an in-house Repairs Service where we can assess the damage and give you an honest, quality remedy to the problem.
